Political Earthquake: Kwankwaso Dumps Party, Ignites 2027 Election Fever With ADC Move!
The African Democratic Congress, ADC, has announced the defection of former Kano State governor and 2023 presidential candidate of the NNPP, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, into its ranks.
In a statement signed by its spokesman, Bolaji Abdullahi, the party described Kwankwaso’s move as a reflection of growing public sentiment that Nigeria requires leadership capable of addressing citizens’ daily challenges and taking responsibility for national development.
The ADC noted that the former governor’s governance experience, grassroots appeal, and unifying influence would strengthen its efforts toward rebuilding the country.
As part of the development, Kwankwaso reportedly urgedmembers of his political movement and supporters nationwide to join the ADC, further boosting the party’s expanding coalition.
He stated that, “Registering with the party is not enough. You must also register with INEC to ensure you can vote for change in the next general elections.” He expressed happiness about collecting his membership card and urged supporters to take this step with him.
Rabi’u Kwankwaso has joined the ADC after discussing it with his political allies. He resigned from the NNPP on Sunday, saying it was a “difficult but necessary” decision to find a party that can better support real change in Nigeria.
His move comes amid tensions in Kano State, including reports of a split with Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, though he didn’t mention this directly.
Kwankwaso thanked the NNPP and the Kwankwasiyya Movement, promising that his fight for a better Nigeria will continue.
The event was attended by key figures within the party, including National Chairman David Mark and National Secretary Rauf Aregbesola, alongside members of the National Working Committee.
Also present were prominent presidential hopefuls such as Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Rotimi Amaechi.
Other notable attendees included Liyel Imoke and former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal.
Top politicians like Dino Melaye, John Odigie-Oyegun, and Emeka Ihedioha met with leaders including Seyi Makinde and Seriake Dickson. Their talks led to Kwankwaso’s defection, signaling big changes in the political scene before the next elections.
