Rihanna's Riot & Rocki Birth: A$AP Rocky Reveals Hilarious Labor Room Antics

In a recent feature for VIBE magazine's return to print, A$AP Rocky offered intimate details about his experiences with fatherhood alongside Rihanna and candidly addressed a harrowing home invasion. The issue, published on Tuesday, June 2, highlights Rocky's deep connection to his three children: RZA, Riot, and Rocki Irish Mayers.

Rocky articulated his philosophy on fatherhood, describing it as an innate and constant state of being. "Being emotionally present, emotionally available, receptive, still endearing, but not only that, loving," he shared, emphasizing, "That’s easy. That’s me all day. That’s just me." He noted that while welcoming their firstborn, RZA, in May 2022, brought an element of the unknown, the subsequent births were remarkably smooth. Rihanna gave birth to their second son, Riot, in August 2023, and their daughter, Rocki Irish Mayers, in September 2024. Rocky revealed that he and Rihanna maintained a lighthearted atmosphere during the deliveries of Riot and Rocki, "laughing and cracking jokes and s–t," reflecting a relaxed and joyful experience.

Beyond the topic of family, A$AP Rocky also recounted a terrifying incident that occurred in March when a woman discharged more than ten shots from an AR-15-like rifle into their Los Angeles home. The couple and their three children were inside at the time. Rocky expressed the profound impact of the event, stating, "It was f–ked up. Somebody attempted at [harming] me and my family. It took away a lot of peace and happiness of being able to just be free. I don’t want to be robbed of my peace and joy."

The alleged perpetrator, Ivanna Ortiz, was apprehended by police near the Beverly Hills home after attempting to flee. Ortiz has entered a plea of not guilty to ten charges of assault with a semiautomatic firearm and three charges of shooting at an occupied dwelling, facing a potential life sentence if convicted. In May, Judge Shannon K. Cooley mandated a mental health evaluation for Ortiz, prompted by doubts from Deputy Public Defender Derek Dillman regarding her mental competency to stand trial.
