Rihanna's Beverly Hills Mansion Attacked: Woman Charged in AR-15 Shooting
Rihanna's Beverly Hills mansion was attacked late Sunday night, resulting in bullet holes and the arrest of a suspect. The pop star was home during the incident but, along with her family, was unharmed. Authorities are investigating the motive behind the shooting.
Police in Los Angeles said on Sunday they had arrested afemale suspect after she firedmultiple gunshots into the home of superstar singer Rihanna, according to DW.com.
The authorities told local news outlets thata 35-year-old woman was taken into custody on suspicion of attempted murder and a weapon was recovered.
An AR-15-style assault rifle was reportedly used in the shooting.
Officers responded to the report of gunfire around 1:15 pm (2000 GMT) on Sunday in the Beverly Hills area but luckily no one was injured after they reached the destination.
Aerial footage showed multiple gunshot holes in the gate surrounding the property, in an Airstream trailer parked outside of the house and at least one bullet hole on the actual exterior wall of the home.
The street leading up to the property was blocked off by police tape as LAPD detectives continued their investigation.
The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) confirmed that Rihanna was at home during the shooting, though her partner and father of her three children, A$AP Rocky, was not present at the time.
Despite the violent nature of the attack, authorities reported that no one was injured. A family source reassured The Post, stating, "They are all doing okay."
Police swiftly responded to the 911 call and, approximately 30 minutes later, arrested a suspect in a shopping center parking lot in Sherman Oaks.
The alleged shooter was identified as 35-year-old Ivanna Ortiz.
According to police, Ortiz allegedly fired between seven and nine rounds from an AR-15-style rifle, with four of those rounds striking Rihanna's residence.
As of now, authorities have not released a motive for the shooting.
