Music Star Thomas Rhett & Lauren Akins Announce Arrival of First Son!

Country music sensation Thomas Rhett and his beloved wife, Lauren Akins, have joyfully announced the birth of their fifth child, and notably, their first son, Brave Elijah Akins. The newest member of the Akins-Rhett family arrived last week, preceding his due date by almost two weeks and weighing in at nearly 10 pounds. This significant addition expands their household to seven, marking a new chapter for the couple.
Lauren Akins shared intimate details of the delivery in a joint Instagram post, emphasizing Thomas Rhett’s pivotal role. She lauded him as her “biggest champion in labor & delivery,” revealing that he actively assisted in the birth. In a moment filled with emotion, Rhett was the first to tearfully, yet with a touch of shock, declare to everyone in the room, “It’s a BOY.” This deeply personal experience underscored the profound bond and shared joy within their family.
Brave Elijah now joins his four adoring older sisters: Willa Gray, Ada James, Lennon Love, and Lillie Carolina. Akins affectionately noted that the sisters are already “smitten” with their new baby brother, and both parents are “completely over the moon in love” with their “big Brave boy.”
The couple had previously announced their exciting news in a unique manner. Back in August, Rhett surprised his fans by ingeniously tweaking the lyrics of his 2017 hit, “Life Changes,” in a social media video. This creative announcement served as a full-circle moment for a song that was instrumental in his early mainstream breakthrough, having topped Billboard’s Country Airplay chart and achieving crossover success on the Billboard Hot 100, solidifying his status as a consistent hitmaker.
Fatherhood has long been an intrinsic theme woven into Thomas Rhett’s songwriting. His acclaimed 2015 smash, “Die a Happy Man,” a heartfelt ode inspired by his relationship with Lauren, spent multiple weeks at No. 1 on Country Airplay and garnered Grammy nominations. Subsequent musical projects have continued to authentically reflect his evolving life and experiences as a devoted father. Over the past decade, Rhett has amassed an impressive record of more than 20 career No. 1s across Billboard’s Country Airplay chart and has released seven studio albums, including his notable work, “Where We Started.”
