Megan Thee Stallion's Candid Confession: A 'Wake-Up Call' After 'Moulin Rouge!' Hospitalization

Megan Thee Stallion, the acclaimed Houston rapper, recently experienced a health scare that led to her mid-show departure from Broadway’s Moulin Rouge! on Tuesday night, March 31. The artist was subsequently hospitalized due to what doctors identified as “extreme exhaustion,” along with dehydration, vasoconstriction, and low metabolic levels. This incident prompted a candid message from Megan to her fans, affectionately known as the Hotties, reflecting on the challenges of her demanding schedule.

Addressing her followers on Instagram on Wednesday, April 1, Megan described the event as a “real wake-up call.” She openly admitted to pushing her body beyond its limits, stating, “I’ve been pushing myself past my limits lately, running on empty, and my body finally said enough.” The unexpected health issue was a frightening experience for her, leading to fears of fainting on stage despite her efforts to continue the performance. She expressed her regret for disappointing her fans, emphasizing their importance to her.

Assuring her supporters, the 31-year-old artist quickly alleviated worries by promising her return to the Broadway stage for the Thursday night show on April 2. She explained her need for just one day to “rest, reset, and take care of myself the way I should have been,” vowing to return “stronger, clearer, and ready to give you 100%.”

A representative for Megan Thee Stallion confirmed to Billboard that she was transported to a local hospital for a medical evaluation after exhibiting concerning symptoms. Following treatment, she was discharged and is currently resting. The representative also conveyed Megan’s profound gratitude for the outpouring of prayers and well-wishes from her supporters, and her anticipation of resuming her role as Zidler.

The news of her hospitalization was also shared by her hairstylist, Kellon Deryck, who posted a request for prayers on X. Megan Thee Stallion made history in March by becoming the first female-identifying performer to portray Zidler in Moulin Rouge! Her eight-week engagement began on March 24 and is scheduled to conclude on May 17.
