Nigerian skit maker and social media influencer, Samuel Perry, widely known as Broda Shaggi, was reportedly hospitalized after allegedly sustaining a gunshot injury. The incident is said to have occurred on Sunday afternoon, March 8, while he was filming a skit under the Sango-Ota bridge in Ogun State.

Following the alleged shooting, Broda Shaggi was immediately rushed by his crew members to Blooming Care Hospital in the Alakuko area of Lagos State, where he received initial first aid treatment. He was subsequently referred to Duchess Hospital in the Government Residential Area, Ikeja, Lagos, where he is currently recuperating from an injury to his thigh.

The Lagos State Police Command confirmed the development, with spokesperson Abimbola Adebisi stating that the police were alerted by the hospital. Detectives and a patrol team were mobilized to the facility, where they identified the victim as Broda Shaggi. Adebisi noted that while an investigation is ongoing, the location of the incident, Sango-Ota, falls outside the jurisdiction of the Lagos State Police Command.

Conversely, the Ogun State Police Command has provided conflicting statements regarding the incident. Initially, the Police Public Relations Officer, Oluseyi Babaseyi, stated that the command had not received any official report about the alleged shooting, despite it being reported to have occurred within Ogun State. In an update released on Friday afternoon, Babaseyi further clarified that the command "cannot confirm that Broda Shaggi was shot anywhere within Ogun State." However, the spokesperson affirmed that an investigation into the matter has commenced, urging the public to refrain from spreading unverified information.

Despite the ongoing investigations by both Lagos and Ogun State Police Commands, details surrounding the shooting, including the exact circumstances and who was responsible, remain unclear. The conflicting statements from the police commands highlight the complexity of verifying the incident's details as it traverses jurisdictional boundaries.
