Major Milestone: Alicia Keys' 'Hell's Kitchen' Announces Final Broadway Show, Set For Global Expansion!

After a highly successful run of nearly two years and almost 800 performances, Alicia Keys' acclaimed musical “Hell’s Kitchen” is concluding its Broadway engagement at New York’s Shubert Theatre on February 22. Original cast member and Tony-nominated actor Brandon Victor Dixon is set to reprise his role as Davis from January 27 through the final performance, adding a special touch to the musical’s farewell on the Great White Way.
“Hell’s Kitchen” has been a financial and critical success, garnering over $100 million in ticket sales during its Broadway run. Beyond its commercial achievements, the production also raised more than $1.5 million for charity in association with TodayTix Group, highlighting its commitment to broader community impact. The musical’s mission, as articulated by 17-time Grammy winner Alicia Keys, was to champion diverse storytelling on Broadway, ensuring a sense of belonging for all audiences and expanding opportunities for Black and Brown actors and artists.
The journey of “Hell’s Kitchen” began with its world premiere at The Public Theater on October 24, 2023, running until January 14, 2024, before making its Broadway debut on April 20, 2024. The creative team behind this masterpiece includes five-time Tony Award nominee Michael Greif for direction, Pulitzer Prize finalist and Tony nominee Kristoffer Diaz for the book, Emmy and Grammy winner Adam Blackstone for music supervision, and five-time Tony nominee Camille A. Brown for choreography, all working under the musical direction and with music and lyrics by Alicia Keys.
The original cast featured Maleah Joi Moon as Ali, the central rebellious teen whose coming-of-age story and relationship with her mother drive the narrative, alongside Shoshana Bean, Kecia Lewis, and Brandon Victor Dixon. Both Lewis and Moon earned Tony Awards in 2024 for Best Actress in a Featured Role in a Musical and Best Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical, respectively, contributing to the show’s total of 13 Tony nominations. The musical also received a 2025 Grammy for Best Musical Theater Album. The current cast includes talents such as Amanda Reid, Kelsee Kimmel, four-time Grammy winner Yolanda Adams, three-time Grammy Award winner Ne-Yo, and Lamont Walker II. Grammy-nominated singer Tank and Broadway star Christopher Jackson from Hamilton have also made limited guest appearances.
As the Broadway run concludes, Alicia Keys reflects on the show's profound impact and universal appeal. She emphasizes that while the story is specifically set in 1990s New York City, its themes of family, grit, resilience, making mistakes, hope, love, transformation, and community resonate deeply with everyone. Inspired by the show, the nonprofit organization Kaleidoscope Dreams was founded to enhance access to the arts in communities and schools, further extending the musical's legacy.
Despite its Broadway ending, “Hell’s Kitchen” is far from over. A multi-year national tour, which launched on October 10, 2025, is actively underway, bringing the show to audiences across the U.S. Additionally, international productions are slated for South Korea, Germany, and Australia, fulfilling Keys’ vision of taking
