Nigerian Winger Ridwan Sanusi Joins AS Trenčín on Loan
Nigerian winger Ridwan Sanusi has completed a loan transfer to Slovakian club AS Trencin from MŠK Žilina. The move is aimed at securing regular playing time for the versatile 23-year-old, who hopes to establish consistent form and potentially earn a permanent deal. AS Trencin will look to leverage Sanusi's skills to improve their league position.
Nigerian winger Ridwan Sanusi has completed a loan move to Slovakian club AS Trenčín from MŠK Žilina, with the deal keeping him at the club until the end of the upcoming season. The 23-year-old joined Žilina last year after spells with five other Slovakian clubs, including ŠKF Sereď, Slavoj Trebišov, FK Pohronie and FK Železiarne Podbrezová.
Sanusi made 25 appearances and provided three assists during his loan spell at Podbrezová last season, helping the club finish sixth in the Slovakian Niké Liga. After returning to Žilina, Sanusi struggled to secure a regular place in the matchday squad, prompting the move in search of consistent playing time.
The right-footed winger can also operate as a midfielder or on the left flank and is noted for his pace, strength and versatility. With his Žilina contract set to expire at the end of the current campaign, a successful season at AS Trenčín could lead to a permanent move.
Sanusi arrived in Europe in 2021 and has built extensive experience in Slovakian football, although he is yet to represent Nigeria at either youth or senior international level. His latest move gives him another opportunity to establish himself through regular first-team football and strengthen his professional profile. AS Trenčín finished eighth last season and will hope Sanusi can contribute to their efforts to improve their position in the Niké Liga.
