Football Superstar Osimhen Teases Future: 'Why Not?' Player Reveals Dream Serie A Club

Victor Osimhen, a formidable Nigerian striker, has acknowledged the possibility of returning to Italian football in the future, despite the challenging circumstances that surrounded his departure from Napoli. During his tenure in Italy, Osimhen carved out a remarkable legacy, swiftly establishing himself as one of the most compelling African players to grace Serie A. His exceptional talent was recognized early, as he secured the league’s Best Under-23 award in only his second season and was also named Emerging Player of the Year at the Globe Soccer Awards.
His career pinnacle with Napoli arrived in 2023 when his prolific scoring led the club to their first league title in 33 years. This historic Scudetto triumph cemented his place in Napoli’s club history. That season was also marked by significant individual accolades for Osimhen, who was crowned Serie A Footballer of the Year and made history as the first African player to win the coveted Capocannoniere award for being the league’s top scorer.
However, Osimhen's time in Naples concluded on a sour note. The forward publicly stated he felt he had been “treated like a dog,” a sentiment that ultimately paved the way for his exit and a fresh chapter abroad. He initially joined Galatasaray on a temporary deal in 2024, before making a record permanent move to the Turkish club in 2025, where he has since rediscovered his top form and continued to impress.
Ahead of Galatasaray’s crucial Champions League second-leg encounter against Juventus in Turin, Osimhen addressed questions about a potential return to Italy. While strongly emphasizing his current commitment and profound attachment to Galatasaray, the striker openly expressed his admiration for the Italian giants, Juventus. He stated, “If it's possible for me to come to Italy, Juventus would be a club I'd enjoy playing for a lot. However, I'm very happy at Galatasaray right now. I love Galatasaray a lot. I'm having a great time. I'm sweating for a club I'm deeply attached to from the heart.” He also added that “90% of players in the world would want to play for Juventus. I could say, why not,” acknowledging the unpredictable nature of future events.
Osimhen enters this decisive Champions League match in formidable form, having delivered two assists and played a direct role in three goals during Galatasaray’s impressive 5-2 first-leg victory. The Turkish champions travel to Turin with the advantage, needing only to avoid a heavy defeat to secure their qualification for the Champions League Round of 16.
