Unlocking History: The Beatles' First Official Museum Opens at Iconic Rooftop Gig Site

The Beatles are set to reclaim their historic London landmark at 3 Savile Row with the unveiling of the world’s first official fan experience and museum in 2027. Announced by the Fab Four’s own Apple Corps Ltd, the new attraction will occupy the seven floors of the Georgian townhouse in the heart of Mayfair, which famously hosted the band's final live performance – the iconic 1969 rooftop concert.
This pioneering venture promises an unparalleled dive into the band's legacy, featuring a wealth of "never-seen-before material from Apple Corps’ extensive archives, rotating exhibitions, a fan store, and the recreation of the original studio where Let it Be (1970) was recorded." Unlike various unofficial tributes around the globe, this London experience stands out as the first to be officially managed by the band’s own entity, Apple Corps Ltd., which was originally headquartered on Savile Row and continues to oversee the group's business affairs.
The building at 3 Savile Row holds profound significance as the site where The Beatles delivered their legendary 1969 rooftop concert, an event immortalized in the 'Let It Be' film and revisited in Peter Jackson’s epic 'Get Back' documentary. Fans have long flocked to photograph the exterior, and soon they will be able to explore its interior, including the very rooftop where the historic performance took place, with its original railings still intact.
Excitement for the opening is palpable among those involved. Tom Greene, Apple Corps’ chief executive, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “We’re thrilled to bring Apple Corps back to its spiritual home and give The Beatles fans something truly special.” Paul McCartney shared his sentiments, remarking, “It was such a trip to get back to 3 Savile Row recently and have a look around. There are so many special memories within the walls, not to mention the rooftop.” Ringo Starr simply added, “Wow, it’s like coming home.”
This initiative comes amidst other significant developments for The Beatles' legacy. Under the new leadership of Tom Greene, who joined in 2025, Apple Corps Ltd. has recently announced several new hires and promotions. Looking ahead, fans can anticipate even more Beatles content with the upcoming release of four films directed by Sam Mendes, featuring Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, Joseph Quinn as George Harrison, and Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr in leading roles.
