The Kwara State Police Command has officially confirmed a coordinated attack by armed bandits on the Police Mobile Force (PMF) Camp located in Nuku Village, via Kaiama, within the Kaiama Local Government Area of the state. The tragic incident, which occurred in the early hours of Friday, April 10, 2026, resulted in the fatal shooting of five members of the National Forest Guards. According to SP Adetoun Ejire Adeyemi, the Police Public Relations Officer, the bandits launched their assault around 03:45hrs, causing extensive damage to a police patrol vehicle before PMF personnel stationed at the camp successfully repelled them.

In the wake of this bloody attack, the state Commissioner of Police, Ojo Adekimi, expressed profound sympathy to the families of the deceased forest guards and vehemently condemned the act of violence. The police command has assured the public that comprehensive tactical and intelligence-driven operations have been initiated to track down and apprehend the perpetrators responsible for this heinous crime.
