Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North in the National Assembly, has publicly alleged that the Delta State Government orchestrated the manipulation of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries, claiming he was the rightful victor over Ifeanyi Okowa in the Delta North senatorial primary. Speaking on ARISE NEWS, Nwoko expressed profound dissatisfaction with the conduct of the exercise, asserting that the entire process lacked transparency and fairness from its inception. He specifically accused the State Government of conspiring to produce results that aligned with their preferred outcomes.

Nwoko further stated that his campaign possesses comprehensive ward-by-ward results and compelling video evidence from the primaries, all of which have been officially submitted to the relevant party authorities. He recounted an unusual instruction received midway through the primary, where participants were informed via phone message that no results should be announced at the ward level. Instead, results were to be collected and subsequently announced at the national level in Abuja, raising immediate concerns about the integrity of the process.

Highlighting specific discrepancies, Nwoko claimed that only a single video from a ward in Ika North East had surfaced publicly. He pointed out a stark contrast between the sparse crowd visible in the footage and the official figures of 5,000 votes announced for that ward. He firmly maintained that the video depicting Ifeanyi Okowa being declared the winner represented just one out of the 98 wards involved in the senatorial primary. Consequently, Nwoko challenged party officials to release the results and supporting evidence from all other wards to ensure complete transparency and accountability.

The senator also declared his unwavering stance to reject any outcome upheld by the APC national leadership if it contradicts what he firmly believes to be the genuine mandate of the party members. He dismissed allegations of intimidation and violence in areas considered his strongholds as isolated incidents, arguing that they occurred in perhaps only 10 out of 98 wards and were therefore insufficient to alter the overall outcome of the primaries.

Explaining his past political shift, Nwoko revealed that he departed from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) because he felt he lacked the necessary freedom to operate effectively as a senator, citing alleged interference in projects and decision-making by the state leadership. Reaffirming his position on the primaries, Nwoko reiterated that voter turnout and video evidence from across the wards overwhelmingly demonstrated strong support for his candidacy. He expressed confidence that the President would intervene in the matter, assuring his continued commitment to the APC, despite the internal dispute. Nwoko concluded by stating that his camp had already provided results and videos from all 98 wards and remains confident that justice will ultimately prevail.
