Nigerian Hospitality Soars: Transcorp Hotels Achieves N13.7bn Half-Year Profit

Transcorp Hotels Plc has demonstrated remarkable financial resilience and operational excellence, reporting a significant increase in profitability for the first half (H1) of 2026. Despite a slight moderation in revenue, the company achieved a 12 percent surge in profit before tax (PBT), reaching N13.7 billion. The hospitality subsidiary of Transnational Corporation Plc also recorded an impressive 21 percent growth in profit after tax (PAT), which rose to N10.5 billion, up from N8.7 billion in the corresponding period of 2025. These figures were detailed in the company's unaudited financial results for the period ended June 30, 2026. Revenue for the period stood at N44.4 billion, a marginal decrease compared to N46.9 billion in the same period last year, primarily attributed to softer market demand within its international business segment. Notwithstanding the slight revenue dip, Transcorp Hotels Plc enhanced its operating expense margin by three percent, a testament to its ongoing operational efficiency and prudent cost management strategies.
