NBC Unleashes 2026 Fall Schedule & New Series at Star-Studded Upfront Event!

NBC has unveiled its comprehensive programming slate for the upcoming 2026-2027 broadcast season, featuring an array of new dramas, comedies, unscripted series, and returning favorites. The network revealed its fall schedule and provided first-look details during its upfront presentation to advertisers, held at Radio City Music Hall. The event, kicked off by a vibrant laser light show and a musical monologue from “Las Culturistas” hosts Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers, emphasized NBCU’s enduring brand and relevant programming.

For the new season, NBC has ordered four new scripted shows. Two dramas, “Line of Fire” and a reboot of “The Rockford Files,” will join the lineup alongside two new comedies, “Sunset P.I.” and “Newlyweds.” “Line of Fire” and “Newlyweds” are slated for a fall debut, while “The Rockford Files” and “Sunset P.I.” are scheduled for a midseason launch in January and February, respectively. The decision to hold the latter two for midseason was strategic, allowing them to anchor strong time slots, with “The Rockford Files” potentially benefiting from “The Traitors” as a lead-in.

“The Rockford Files” reboot stars David Boreanaz as James Rockford, a newly paroled private investigator determined to solve cases in Los Angeles using his charm and wit. The series, written and executive produced by Mike Daniels, also features Michaela McManus, Felix Solis, and Jacki Weaver. “Line of Fire,” a drama written and executive produced by Josh Safran, follows a family of law enforcement agents – including Peter Krause and Hope Davis – who become embroiled in a deadly conspiracy, forcing them to protect one another even if it means betraying their sworn code. Other cast members include Kat Cunning, Tommy O’Brien, Taylor Bloom, and Charlie Barnett.

On the comedy front, “Sunset P.I.”, from “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” creators Dan Goor and Luke Del Tredici, stars Jake Johnson and Jane Levy as Los Angeles private investigators, continuing a “proud tradition” of L.A. detectives. Langston Kerman, Mary Shalaby, and Keith David also star. “Newlyweds” is a multi-cam comedy portraying a later-in-life love story between a free-spirited woman and a buttoned-up professor who marry impetuously. The series stars real-life couple Téa Leoni and Tim Daly, with Jamie Lee Curtis serving as a recurring guest star and executive producer. Gail Lerner is the writer and executive producer.

NBC’s unscripted offerings are expanding with a new broadcast edition of “The Traitors,” hosted by Emmy-winner Alan Cumming, featuring non-celebrity contestants competing for a $250,000 prize. This competition series will air Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT, leading into the “Law & Order” block. Additionally, a game show version of “Wordle,” hosted by Savannah Guthrie, has received a series pickup. Returning unscripted series include “America’s Got Talent,” “American Ninja Warrior,” “Password,” and “Destination X” in 2027.

The network’s primetime scripted lineup sees the return of several fan favorites. The
