The ambitious market, designed to occupy a substantial four-acre site, is envisioned as a harmonious blend of the traditional open-market system and cutting-edge modern commercial facilities. Its extensive blueprint includes a diverse array of amenities such as numerous shops, sheds, stalls, warehouses, a large supermarket, dedicated restaurants, efficient cold stores, a specialized meat section complete with a livestock bay, and flexible office spaces available for rent. Beyond these core commercial offerings, the project incorporates vital public services and conveniences: a police post for security, a fire service post for safety, a clinic and pharmacy for healthcare needs, a daycare centre for children of traders, a dedicated women’s bank to support female entrepreneurs, and even limited accommodation for traders who require overnight operations, emphasizing the 24-hour nature of the market.

During his address, Mayor Allotey underscored the paramount importance of collaborative efforts in transforming Accra. He articulated that successful urban development necessitates a concerted partnership among the government, traditional authorities, the Accra Metropolitan Assembly, local traders, and all other pertinent stakeholders.
