Earlier, a 26-year-old woman from Arusha, Neema Kirugala, reported that her baby had allegedly been switched; she was with her mum, and they were both very devastated.

According to the young mum, the baby she gave birth to was healthy, but the one presented to her was suffering from a heart defect. She also complained that the baby's skin colour was darker than hers.

All that came after she was allegedly denied access to her angel until the following day. When she was given the baby, the mother complained it had been wrapped in a strange shawl. She also complained that her baby weighed 3.6 kilos, but the one she was given weighed 2 kilos.

When Neema sounded the alarm, a team of legal experts from the Mama Samia Legal Aid Campaign went to her home and took her to the hospital.

Apart from the nurse being sent home and arrested to pave the way for investigations, the woman and three babies who were born on that day were sent for DNA tests.

"I have seen some light now since I get help and will wait for DNA tests. I hope that the answers will come first so that I can now who my baby is," said Neema.
