Nigerian Singer Orezi Mourns the Loss of His Father

Nigerian singer Esegine Allen, popularly known as Orezi, has announced the devastating loss of his father, Esegine Samson. The entertainer, known for hits like "Shoki" and "Rihanna," shared the heartbreaking news via a social media post on Tuesday, June 3, expressing profound grief over his father's passing which he indicated had occurred a couple of hours prior to his announcement.

In an emotional message accompanying a picture of his late father, Orezi described him as his "guardian angel, greatest cheerleader, mentor & my role model." He conveyed the immense pain he was experiencing, stating, "This is a type of pain I have never experienced in my entire life. This feels like a dream and so unreal... I am shattered, confused, sad and heartbroken." He further added, "Oh my sweet daddy I can’t believe you’re gone, I have cried and cried but yet these tears still continue to flow. DEATH YOU DO ME THIS ONE." The cause of his father's death was not revealed in the announcements.

Orezi, who rose to prominence with his song "Rihanna" in 2013, also made a heartfelt plea to his supporters. "My dear Fans , Friends please say a prayer for me and my family in this difficult time," he wrote. He concluded his tribute with a promise of eternal love: "Till we meet again to part no more Esegine Samson. I Love you forever daddy (God is the greatest)."

Following Orezi's announcement, there has been an outpouring of support. Numerous celebrities from the entertainment industry, along with many fans and followers, quickly flooded his social media page with messages of condolence. They offered words of comfort and prayers for him and his family, with many urging him to stay strong during this challenging period.

This somber news about his father follows other personal challenges and notable moments for Orezi that have been in the public eye. For instance, Legit.ng had previously reported that the singer's house was gutted by a fire in 2024, leading to significant property damage. In another report, Orezi recounted an incident from 2016 where he was gifted N30m after activities in 'the other room'.
