Janet, a beloved teacher, was among 15 people who died when three vehicles collided along the Kericho-Kaplong Road in Bomet county.

According to preliminary investigations, a private car that was reportedly ferrying revellers from a celebration was being driven recklessly and had loud distractions.

At the home of the engineer, Sigei hugged and consoled the widower, who cried in pain, unable to comprehend what had just happened to his beloved family.

Other mourners were also being consoled over the deaths and were crying publicly as well.

In his reaction to the accident, Governor Hillary Barchok observed that rescue teams responded swiftly and victims were taken to nearby hospitals. He added that calls were made for stricter traffic enforcement in the black spot area.

Janet was a beloved teacher at Yeganet Primary School as well as a doting mother of five. According to social media influencer Daktari Kelvin Kipchirchir Ufa, the beloved mother and wife had set out on what was supposed to be a routine visit to Kapkatet Market.
