Will Smith's New Prime Video Thriller Declared an 'Absolute Rocket Ride'!

AnnaSophia Robb has been experiencing a significant career high in recent years, building on her early success in films like Bridge to Terabithia. More recently, she has shared the screen with Aaron Pierre in Netflix's Rebel Ridge, appeared in NBC's murder-mystery series Grosse Pointe Garden Society, and featured in Benito Skinner's teen comedy Overcompensating. Looking ahead to 2026, Robb is set to star alongside Anthony Ippolito in the acclaimed biopic I Play Rocky, which tells the improbable underdog tale behind the making of the first Rocky movie.

Amidst her upcoming projects, Robb has also recently completed work on a Prime Video original titled Supermax, a project she describes as almost unbelievable. Announced late last year, Supermax is directed by David Gordon Green, known for the Halloween reboot trilogy and frequent collaborations with Danny McBride. The series is billed as an action crime thriller murder mystery, uniquely set entirely within the confines of the most secure prison on the planet, where a homicide should theoretically be impossible.

Working on Supermax provided Robb the opportunity to collaborate with Green and star directly opposite Will Smith, with a cast that further includes Jason Clarke and Jaafar Jackson, the breakout star from the upcoming Michael Jackson biopic. Robb expressed immense admiration for Smith, stating, “He's the best,” and confirmed that both Smith and Green were the primary draws for her to join the project. She felt blessed to work with such talented individuals, recalling Smith's encouraging words when production wrapped: “Just soak up every moment and be present and enjoy.”

Robb's role in Supermax sees her playing an FBI agent in an action movie directed by David Gordon Green. She teased the plot, calling it “an absolute rocket ride,” involving two FBI agents investigating a murder within the supermax prison, which quickly escalates into wild developments. David Gordon Green directed Supermax from a screenplay penned by David Weil, known for his work on Citadel and Hunters, alongside David J. Rosen. Robb noted that this project might be one of Green's most explosive to date, given its setting and continuously escalating action.

Supermax is currently in post-production and is expected to premiere on Prime Video in 2027. Fans can also anticipate seeing AnnaSophia Robb on the big screen in I Play Rocky, which is slated to hit theaters next month.
