XRP Emergency: Binance Reserves Plummet to 2022 Lows!
XRP is witnessing rising demand amidst broader crypto market volatility, as on-chain data shows a significant reduction in its supply on major exchanges. Binance's XRP reserves have hit their lowest level since December 2022, with similar declines seen on Bybit and Bithumb, potentially signaling strong accumulation.
Despite persistent selling pressure across the broader cryptocurrency market and ongoing volatility, XRP appears to be experiencing a surge in demand, evidenced by significant withdrawals from major exchanges. While the price of XRP has struggled amid the general market downturn, on-chain data from crypto analytics platform CryptoQuant indicates a trend of tokens moving off exchanges, suggesting intense buying activity.
A notable development is the drastic reduction in XRP reserves on Binance, the world's largest exchange by volume. Data reveals that Binance's XRP holdings plummeted to their lowest level since December 2022. Specifically, between October 28 and October 30, Binance's XRP reserve decreased from 2.69 billion XRP to 2.47 billion XRP. This represents a sharp 8.18% decline, with over 220 million XRP withdrawn in just two days, signaling rapid accumulation by traders.
A decrease in exchange reserves typically implies a reduction in the immediate supply of XRP available for trading. This scenario can potentially alleviate selling pressure if demand remains consistent, thereby offering a bullish perspective for the token. This trend of falling XRP supply is not confined to Binance alone, as similar reductions have been observed on other prominent crypto exchanges.
Further data indicates that Bybit's XRP reserves dropped from 306 million to 286 million XRP during the same period. Bithumb also recorded a decrease of 10 million XRP, with its reserves falling from 1.847 billion to 1.837 billion XRP, marking an approximate 0.54% reduction. While these reductions on Bybit and Bithumb were smaller compared to Binance, they collectively point to a broader contraction in the total exchange-held supply of XRP.
However, it is crucial to note that despite the shrinking supply, XRP has remained volatile. Additionally, lower balances on exchanges do not invariably translate to investor accumulation, which could be a contributing factor to why XRP's price has yet to significantly react to this emerging trend of decreasing supply.
