U2 Unleashes ‘The Greatest Show On Earth’ With Massive 2027 World Tour Dates

U2 has announced a new leg of their "The Greatest Show On Earth" tour, set to captivate audiences across the U.K. and Europe in 2027. Billed as "Carnaval De Luz Presents: The Greatest Show On Earth," this extensive run of stadium dates will span from April through July, promising an unforgettable experience for fans.

The European leg is scheduled to kick off on April 26 at Stockholm’s Strawberry Arena, with British rockers Wolf Alice providing support. The itinerary includes significant stops in major European cities such as Paris, Lisbon, Amsterdam, London, Berlin, and Milan. Notably, U2 will play two nights at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on June 18 and 19, and will culminate with two shows at Milan’s Stadio San Siro on July 5 and 6.

Further expansion of the tour is anticipated, with Spanish dates and an additional North American trek expected to be announced soon, according to a press release. Prior to the U.K. and European engagements, the band will embark on initial Latin American shows, beginning February 23 at Mexico City’s Estadio GNP Seguros, followed by performances in Brazil and Argentina, with Beck joining as the support act for this portion of the tour.

Ticketing information for the U.K. and European dates has been detailed for fans. A U2.com subscriber presale will commence on Monday, November 2, at 10 a.m. local time. Following this, Visa cardholders will have an exclusive presale window on Wednesday, November 4, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. local time. Comprehensive ticketing details are available on the band’s official website.

In a joint press statement, band members Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton, and Larry Mullen expressed their ambition for the tour. They described “‘The Greatest Show on Earth’ as a throwdown, a dare to ourselves as much as anyone, to try and have the best night of anybody’s life.” They further characterized the show as "a bit of showman, a bit of shaman, a riot of colour, unreasonable guitar, bass and drums, and tunes you can hold onto. Because if people are gonna show up, we certainly are.”

This upcoming tour follows U2’s highly acclaimed residency at The Sphere in Las Vegas, where the group performed 40 dates over six months starting in September. The residency reimagined their iconic 1991 album "Achtung Baby" through an immersive, high-technology production. Billboard’s Katie Atkinson, reporting from opening night, lauded the four-piece as "exactly the right band to welcome the mind-blowing space," emphasizing that the show was "magic" and "U2’s music and message always remained the focal point throughout the two-hour set."

Beyond their touring endeavors, U2 recently celebrated their 50th anniversary as a group. This milestone was marked by a lunchtime performance for students and teachers at Mount Temple Comprehensive, the Dublin school attended by the band members, followed by a surprise performance on Grafton Street in the city.

Fans in Ireland have reason to anticipate, as U2 has confirmed plans for their new show to visit Ireland in 2028, serving as the grand finale for the tour. The Edge commented, "We can’t say too much about the next leg of The Greatest Show On Earth – we’re still figuring it out – but what we can say is, we’ll be wrapping it up in Ireland. There’s nowhere else we’d want to be for that party.”

Before embarking on their stadium tour, U2 will treat a select group of fans to an exclusive, intimate gig for BBC Music next week, on Tuesday, November 3, at an unannounced venue in central London.

U2 holds a distinguished place in music history as one of the most successful rock acts, boasting eight No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200, beginning with "The Joshua Tree" in 1987. On the Billboard Hot 100, they achieved top 10 success with multiple singles, including "With Or Without You" and "I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For," both reaching No. 1 in 1987.
