Taylor Swift Reigns Supreme: 'The Life of a Showgirl' Dominates Billboard 200 for Six Weeks!

Taylor Swift's album, "The Life of a Showgirl," has achieved a remarkable milestone, spending its sixth consecutive week at the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart, dated November 22, 2025. This impressive run saw the album earn 110,000 equivalent album units in the United States during the week ending November 13, a slight decrease of 8% from the previous week, according to Luminate data. "The Life of a Showgirl" is only the second album in 2025 to maintain the No. 1 position for its first six weeks, following Morgan Wallen’s "I’m the Problem," which reigned for its initial eight weeks out of a total of twelve weeks at the top. This feat places Swift's latest achievement alongside her prior successes; her 2024 album, "The Tortured Poets Department," spent its first twelve weeks at No. 1 out of seventeen total weeks, and "Folklore" also led for its first six weeks in 2020, achieving eight overall weeks at No. 1.

A detailed breakdown of "The Life of a Showgirl's" 110,000 equivalent album units for the latest tracking week reveals that streaming equivalent album (SEA) units constituted the largest portion, with 88,500 units (down 10%). This translated to 115.91 million on-demand official streams of the album’s tracks, securing its sixth consecutive week at No. 1 on the Top Streaming Albums chart. Album sales contributed 19,000 units (up 7%), allowing the album to hold its No. 4 position on the Top Album Sales chart. Track equivalent album (TEA) units made up the remaining 2,500 units (down 32%).

The latest Billboard 200 chart also saw significant new entries and movements within the top 10. Rosalía made a striking debut, earning her first top 10 entry with "LUX" landing at No. 4. "LUX" garnered 46,000 equivalent album units in its inaugural week, marking a personal-best week for the artist. Of these units, SEA units comprised 27,000 (equaling 34.49 million on-demand official streams), a career-high streaming week for Rosalía, resulting in a No. 9 debut on the Top Streaming Albums chart. Album sales for "LUX" were also exceptional, reaching 19,000 units – her best sales week ever – and securing a No. 4 debut on the Top Album Sales chart, with TEA units being a negligible sum. Rosalía's previous appearance on the Billboard 200 was in 2022 with "MOTOMAMI," which peaked at No. 33. The success of "LUX" was bolstered by various sales strategies, including its availability across four different CD boxed sets (each containing branded clothing), two different vinyl LPs (one signed by Rosalía), a standard CD, and a digital download album. Notably, the physical editions included three additional tracks not found on the standard digital download and streaming versions.

Further up the chart, Olivia Dean’s "The Art of Loving" reached a new peak, climbing from No. 7 to No. 5, with 41,000 equivalent album units earned (up 11%). Following Dean, four former No. 1 albums maintained strong positions: Sabrina Carpenter’s "Man’s Best Friend" held steady at No. 6 with 37,000 units (down 5%), SZA’s "SOS" rose 8-7 with 32,000 units (up 3%), Cardi B’s "AM I THE DRAMA?" ascended 10-8 with 30,000 units (up 9%), and Morgan Wallen’s "One Thing at a Time" remained at No. 9 with nearly 30,000 units (up less than 1%). At Nos. 2 and 3, Morgan Wallen’s "I’m the Problem" and the "KPop Demon Hunters" soundtrack exchanged places from the prior week, earning 76,000 units (down 2%) and 75,000 units (down 11%) respectively.

Making a notable debut at No. 10 was YEONJUN’s first solo album, "NO LABELS PART 01," which accumulated 29,000 equivalent album units. Album sales were a significant driver for YEONJUN, comprising 27,000 units and leading to a No. 1 debut on the Top Album Sales chart. SEA units accounted for 2,000 (equaling 3.24 million on-demand official streams), with TEA units being a negligible sum. Similar to Rosalía, YEONJUN’s first-week sales were aided by multiple CD iterations, each offering collectible paper ephemera (some randomized), in addition to a standard digital download edition. YEONJUN’s group, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, has a strong history on the Billboard 200, with seven of their twelve entries reaching the top 10, including 2023’s "The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION," which hit No. 1.

The Billboard 200 chart meticulously ranks the most popular albums in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption, measured in equivalent album units, which are compiled by Luminate. These units encompass album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA), and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). Specifically, one equivalent album unit is equal to one album sale, or ten individual tracks sold from an album, or 3,750 ad-supported on-demand official audio and video streams, or 1,250 paid/subscription on-demand official audio and video streams generated by songs from an album. Luminate, as the independent data provider for the Billboard charts, plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the rankings. They conduct a thorough review and authentication of all submitted data, and in partnership with Billboard, any data deemed suspicious or unverifiable is removed, based on established criteria, before the final chart calculations are made and published. The complete, new November 22, 2025-dated chart will be made available on Billboard’s website on Tuesday, November 18.
