Shockwave in Sin City: Morrissey Pulls Plug on Vegas Residency!

Morrissey has canceled his upcoming four-night Las Vegas residency, scheduled to take place at Wynn Las Vegas' Encore Theater. Ticket buyers were informed on Friday, August 7, that the former Smiths frontman’s run, initially slated for August 14, 15, 18, and 19, had been called off due to “unforeseen logistical issues.” An email sent to attendees confirmed the cancellation, stating, “We regret to inform you that Morrissey – Live in Concert, scheduled for August 14, 15, 18, and 19 at Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas, has been canceled. Due to unforeseen logistical issues, the scheduled Las Vegas residency cannot take place.”

At the time of the announcement, Morrissey’s official website still listed the Las Vegas shows. However, Wynn’s entertainment page had removed the dates, and Ticketmaster listings explicitly indicated, “Unfortunately, the Event Organizer has had to cancel your event.” The 67-year-old musician had not publicly commented on the cancellation as of press time, with Billboard having reached out to his representatives for further details.

This cancellation aligns with Morrissey's established reputation for frequently calling off or rescheduling performances for various reasons. In 2025 alone, he reportedly canceled 25 shows and postponed 11, according to Rolling Stone. More recently, in January of this year, he canceled a pair of California dates—shows that were themselves rescheduled from 2025—citing a medical issue. In March, he also canceled a performance in Valencia, Spain, attributing it to “sleep deprivation” caused by a loud nearby festival, which he claimed left him in a “catatonic state.”

Despite the Las Vegas residency cancellation, Morrissey’s last live performance was on August 1 at Super Bock Arena in Porto, Portugal. He currently has an active schedule of live U.S. performances booked through the fall. This includes appearances at Chicago’s Riot Fest on September 19 and Brooklyn’s CBGB Festival on September 26. His U.S. tour will also make stops in Washington, D.C., Nashville, and Houston, among other cities, before concluding with a headlining set at the Darker Waves Festival in Huntington Beach, California, on November 14.
