Shocking Incident: Man Banned from Singapore After Grabbing Ariana Grande at Premiere!

An Australian man, Johnson Wen, 26, has been permanently banished from Singapore after spending nine days in jail for charging at singer-actress Ariana Grande on the red carpet of the "Wicked: For Good" premiere. The incident, which garnered significant media attention, resulted in Wen's deportation from the Asian city-state and a permanent ban on re-entry, as confirmed by Singapore’s Immigration and Checkpoints Authority. His imprisonment stemmed from charges of being a "public nuisance" following the aggressive encounter.
The alarming event occurred during the promotional cycle for "Wicked: For Good," which premiered worldwide on November 21. Wen reportedly jumped a barricade at Universal Studios Singapore and aggressively approached the R.E.M. Beauty founder. Witnesses describe him putting an arm around her neck, leaving Grande visibly shaken. As security personnel, aided by her co-star Cynthia Erivo, moved to intervene, Wen reportedly grabbed Grande's shoulder and attempted to hold onto her. Erivo recounted her immediate reaction in an interview with Today, stating, "I wasn’t really thinking... I just wanted to make sure my friend was safe."
While Ariana Grande has not publicly commented on the incident, Johnson Wen has continued to openly boast about his actions on social media platforms. He frequently shares videos documenting his history of stage-crashing concerts and physically interacting with various celebrities, including The Weeknd and The Chainsmokers, without their consent. Notably, he was arrested earlier this summer for a similar incident involving Katy Perry, highlighting a pattern of concerning behavior.
The "Wicked: For Good" film, the highly anticipated sequel, marked its worldwide theatrical release on November 21, coinciding with the release of its soundtrack. The soundtrack features two new songs performed by Erivo and Grande, adding to the film's promotional buzz, which was unfortunately overshadowed by the red carpet intrusion.
