Samsung Electronics has officially unveiled its highly anticipated Galaxy S24 series at a vibrant event held at the Grand Ball Room of the prestigious Eko Hotels. The new lineup includes the flagship Galaxy S24 Ultra, alongside the Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24, all designed to usher in a new era of mobile experiences through the integration of Galaxy AI.

According to the company, the Galaxy S series is set to redefine how mobile devices empower users, with AI amplifying nearly every interaction. This includes facilitating barrier-free communication through intelligent text and call translations, maximizing creative freedom with the advanced ProVisual Engine, and establishing a groundbreaking standard for search that promises to transform how Galaxy users discover the world around them.

TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung Electronics, emphasized that the Galaxy S24 series goes beyond mere connectivity, transforming users’ engagement with the world and igniting the next decade of mobile innovation. The series introduces the Live Translate feature, offering a two-way, real-time voice and text translation of phone calls directly within the native app. This allows users to effortlessly converse with international students or colleagues, or book reservations while traveling abroad, all without requiring third-party applications, ensuring privacy through on-device AI.

For live, face-to-face interactions, the Interpreter feature provides instant translation on a split-screen view, enabling people standing opposite each other to read a text transcription of what the other has said. Further enhancing communication, Chat Assist helps users perfect conversational tones for messages and other applications, ensuring the intended sentiment is conveyed, whether it's a polite message to a coworker or a catchy social media caption. The AI built into the Samsung Keyboard also supports real-time message translation in 13 languages. Personal organization also receives a significant boost with the Note Assist feature within Samsung Notes. This powerful tool leverages AI to generate summaries, create templates for streamlined note-taking, and design covers with brief previews, making notes easier to categorize and locate. For voice recordings, even those with multiple speakers, Transcript Assist utilizes AI and Speech-to-Text technology to accurately transcribe, summarize, and even translate the recordings.

Online search, which has profoundly transformed nearly every aspect of life, reaches a new milestone with the Galaxy S24. It is the first phone to debut an intuitive, gesture-driven Circle to Search with Google. By simply long-pressing the home button, users can circle, highlight, scribble on, or tap anything on the Galaxy S24’s screen to receive helpful, high-quality search results without needing to leave the current application. This means users can quickly learn more about a landmark in a friend's social media post or a fact from a YouTube Short seamlessly.

The Galaxy S24 series also unleashes creativity through its ProVisual Engine, a comprehensive suite of AI-powered tools designed to transform image-capturing abilities and maximize creative freedom from the moment a shot is composed to its final sharing. The Galaxy S24 Ultra, in particular, features a Quad Tele System with a new 5x optical zoom lens, working in conjunction with a 50MP sensor to deliver optical-quality performance at various zoom levels including 2x, 3x, 5x, and 10x magnification, thanks to the Adaptive Pixel Sensor. Images also achieve crystal-clear results at 100x with enhanced digital zoom.

Upgraded Nightography capabilities ensure that photos and videos captured with Galaxy S24 Space Zoom are brilliant in any condition, even when significantly zoomed in. The Galaxy S24 Ultra captures more light in dim environments due to its larger pixel size, now 1.4 μm, which is a 60% increase compared to its predecessor. Blur is further reduced on the S24 Ultra through wider optical image stabilizer (OIS) angles and enhanced hand-shake compensation.

For video recording, both the front and rear cameras are equipped with Dedicated ISP Blocks for noise reduction. The Galaxy S24 intelligently analyzes gyro information to differentiate between the filmmaker’s movement and the subjects, enabling more effective noise removal and clear videos even in challenging dark conditions or from a distance.

Once exceptional shots are captured, innovative Galaxy AI editing tools provide simple yet powerful optimizations like erase, re-compose, and remaster. For more streamlined and efficient enhancements, Edit Suggestion utilizes Galaxy AI to recommend perfectly suitable tweaks for each photograph. Furthermore, to grant users even greater creative control and freedom, Generative Edit can intelligently fill in parts of an image background using generative AI.

In terms of design and sustainability, the Samsung Galaxy S24 marks a significant step forward as the first Galaxy S series to incorporate recycled steel and Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU). Specifically, the Galaxy S24 Ultra features a minimum of 40% recycled steel in its speakers and includes a minimum of 10% pre-consumer recycled TPU in the side and volume keys. Moreover, every Galaxy S24 device comes in a packaging box crafted from 100% recycled paper material. The Galaxy S24 Ultra further distinguishes itself as the first-ever Galaxy phone to boast a titanium frame, significantly enhancing its device durability and longevity.
