Microsoft Takes Crypto Leap: Edge Browser Set to Integrate Native Digital Wallet

Microsoft plans to integrate a native crypto wallet directly into its Edge browser, offering users secure control over digital assets without relying on external extensions.

The wallet is non-custodial, meaning all passwords and recovery keys remain with the user, and Microsoft will not access wallets if credentials are lost, emphasizing personal responsibility for asset management.

Seamlessly embedded into Edge, the wallet supports multiple cryptocurrencies, tracks real-time prices, and includes tabs for "Assets" and "Explore," where users can monitor NFTs and crypto news in one interface.

Testers invited to trial the beta version must use their own funds, providing feedback on functionality, while Microsoft warns it will not be liable for any losses during testing.

The wallet’s dashboard features Overview, Assets, Transactions, Connections, and Explore sections, allowing users to manage holdings, track performance, and execute transactions with Ethereum-compatible blockchains via addresses, ENS names, or nicknames.

Users can also buy crypto through integrated platforms like Coinbase or MoonPay, while the "Assets" tab organizes both cryptocurrencies and NFTs in a centralized, easily accessible platform.
