Media Giants Banijay and All3Media Finalize Staggering $8 Billion Merger!

RedBird IMI and Banijay have officially completed their $8 billion merger, establishing a new production-distribution powerhouse called Banijay Entertainment. Headquartered in London and publicly traded, the newly formed entity brings together a vast portfolio of hit shows and formats from both Banijay, including “Peaky Blinders” and “Big Brother,” and All3Media, which contributed “The Traitors” and “Undercover Boss.” This merger follows RedBird IMI’s acquisition of All3Media from Warner Bros. Discovery and Liberty Global two years prior. The All3Media brand name will now be retired as part of the integration.

The leadership structure of Banijay Entertainment will see Marco Bassetti, who previously led Banijay, take on the role of CEO. Jeff Zucker, from RedBird IMI, will serve as Chair, while All3Media’s former CEO, Jane Turton, steps in as Deputy CEO. This multi-layered leadership team is deemed necessary due to the company’s enormous size and global geographical footprint. The leaders emphasized that big decisions will be made collaboratively, leveraging Jane Turton's deep expertise in the UK market and the collective experience of the team, which they believe to be unparalleled in the media industry.

London also hosts the European offices of major streamers like Apple TV, enhancing its appeal as a central hub. Marco Bassetti will commute from Paris, highlighting the accessibility of the new headquarters.

Looking ahead, Banijay Entertainment's immediate focus is on integrating the merger and realizing an announced synergy target of approximately $60 million within 12 months. These synergies will primarily stem from savings in support functions such as leasing and renting, rather than impacting creative or production teams. The company intends to reinvest these savings into creating new intellectual property (IP) and attracting top talent, with the ambition of becoming a “natural consolidator for talent” and the
