Lagos to Host Critical Summit: Security Leaders Unite Against Insecurity & Terrorism

The Sub-Saharan Africa Security Conference (SASCON 2025), a pivotal event designed to tackle the escalating challenges of insecurity, terrorism, and cyber threats across the region, is scheduled to convene in Lagos, Nigeria, from July 22 to 23, 2025. Organized byASIS International Lagos Chapter 206, the conference is anticipated to draw a daily attendance of over 500 participants, encompassing a diverse group of security professionals, innovators, and top government officials.
Expected Guests
Key attendees will include CEOs, Chief Security Officers (CSOs), military and intelligence leaders, risk consultants, policymakers, and technology innovators. Representatives are expected from various African nations such as Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, Rwanda, Côte d’Ivoire, and Cameroon, fostering a broad regional perspective on security matters.

Adedeji Oduba, Chairman of ASIS Lagos Chapter 206, underscored the significance of SASCON 2025 as a vital platform for collaboration and strategic dialogue on Africa’s multifaceted security landscape. He stated that the conference would unite “Africa’s brightest minds in physical and industrial security, cyber-security, intelligence, law enforcement, and critical infrastructure protection,” emphasizing that it is “more than a conference; it is a regional platform for bold conversations, innovation, and joint solutions.”
The two-day conference, themed “Strategic Approaches to Security in Complex Africa,” will feature a comprehensive agenda. This includes high-level keynote addresses from both global and local security leaders, engaging interactive panel discussions covering critical topics such as terrorism, border security, fintech-related risks, and pervasive cyber threats. Additionally, a cutting-edge technology exhibition will showcase the latest advancements in security solutions.
