Following-up on something that I posted on X yesterday…I have now heard from multiple sources that NJCAA D1 Frank Phillips College head basketball coach Hunter Jenkins is headed to UTEP as an assistant.

Last season was Jenkins’ first at FPC, where he led the Plainsmen to a 25-9 record and advanced to the second round of the NJCAA D1 Men’s Basketball Tournament. Prior to his time at Frank Phillips, Jenkins spent four seasons as the head coach at Clarendon College, where he moved over 35 players on to the NCAA D1 level during his tenure.

Jenkins has experience at the D1 level, having served as an assistant at Buffalo, and as a graduate assistant under Chris Beard at Texas Tech. He also worked as a graduate assistant at Louisiana Tech under current Georgia head coach Mike White.
