I can now confirm that Abilene Christian assistant Cinco Boone will be named as the new head basketball coach at NJCAA D1 South Plains College.

Boone had been at ACU for the past two seasons, and was an assistant at UT Arlington before that. He also spent seven seasons (2015-22) as the head coach at D2 Angelo State, where he went 130-67 (.660). Boone also served as an assistant to Chris Beard at both McMurry University and Angelo State.

Boone will take over at SPC for former head coach Hayden Sowers who became an assistant on Ryan Pannone’s new staff at Arkansas State.
