Jason Kelce Reveals Sweet Truth About Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift's Romance

Jason Kelce, brother to NFL star Travis Kelce, has offered his unique perspective on the highly publicized romance between Travis and pop sensation Taylor Swift, highlighting its profound and "coolest" impact on families globally. During a recent episode of their podcast, "New Heights," where they spoke with sports broadcasters Erin Andrews and Charissa Thompson, Jason expressed his admiration for how Swift's involvement has significantly drawn more women and girls into the world of football.
Jason Kelce specifically noted a conversation with Charissa Thompson, who brought up the remarkable rise in female viewership for the NFL, a trend largely attributed to Taylor Swift's presence at games. "You just mentioned Taylor and how much she’s gotten girls into the sport and dads and daughters together," Jason recounted. He emphasized that hearing from fathers and daughters about their shared newfound interest in the sport, sparked by Swift and Travis's relationship, has been a truly "awesome thing."
Travis Kelce himself concurred with his brother's sentiments regarding his famous fiancée's influence, nodding in agreement as Thompson elaborated on the phenomenon. Thompson highlighted how young girls, who might not have previously shown interest in football, began watching Kansas City Chiefs games because of Swift. This initial curiosity often blossomed into a genuine shared bond between fathers and daughters over the sport, a development she described as "so special."
Indeed, statistics and observations confirm a significant increase in young women watching football games, a phenomenon widely credited to Swift's widespread appeal. Many "Swifties," as her fans are known, initially tuned into games solely to catch a glimpse of the 14-time Grammy winner in the stands. However, for a considerable number, this initial engagement has evolved into an authentic passion for the sport itself.
Beyond Swift's direct impact, Erin Andrews and Charissa Thompson also deserve credit for their roles. As prominent women in the sports industry, they have long advocated for broader representation. Furthermore, they indirectly played a part in the genesis of Swift and Travis's relationship, famously urging the singer to consider dating the football player during an episode of their "Calm Down" podcast in 2023. The full episode of "New Heights" featuring these discussions is available for viewing.
