Ye, formerly Kanye West, and Big Sean publicly reconciled and reunited on stage during West’s Chicago homecoming concert at Soldier Field. This event signifies the end of their long-standing feud over financial disputes. Big Sean, along with other guests like 2 Chainz, Future, and Twista, performed several hits, marking a memorable night of music and mended relationships.
Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, and Big Sean publicly reunited during the first night of West’s Chicago homecoming shows at Soldier Field on Thursday, September 3. This event marked a significant reconciliation between the two artists, who had been estranged following a public feud.
Big Sean, who was signed to Ye’s G.O.O.D. Music label from 2007 until 2021, experienced a falling out with Ye over financial disputes related to his recording contract. Sean claimed he was owed millions, a detail that was later deleted from his tweet. The feud escalated to a point where Ye, in a 2021 interview with Drink Champs, controversially stated that signing Sean Don was the “worst thing I’ve ever done.” However, the two have now successfully buried the hatchet and are reported to be back on good terms.
The Detroit rapper was the first guest Ye brought out on stage during the concert. Together, they performed classics from the 'Cruel Summer' album, including the Billboard Hot 100 top 15 hits “Clique” and “Mercy,” with 2 Chainz also joining them on stage. Big Sean also performed his E-40-assisted anthem “I Don’t F–k With You,” a Mustard-produced track that achieved No. 11 on the Hot 100 in 2015 and is now certified Diamond by the RIAA.
Before his departure from Ye’s massive globe stage, Big Sean shared an emotional message, stating, “Chi-Town, I love you forever. Ye, I love you, bro, and I appreciate you.” Ye reciprocated the sentiment, responding, “Love you, fam!” The night’s lineup also featured appearances from Future and Twista, with the concert packing over 45 songs into a little over two hours. This reunion also follows a 2020 commitment by Ye to return the masters to his G.O.O.D. Music signees, a move that Big Sean had publicly appreciated on Twitter at the time. Over the years, Ye and Sean have collaborated on numerous other tracks, including “See Me Now,” “All Your Fault,” “One Man Can Change the World,” and “Champions.” Ye is scheduled to return to the Soldier Field stage for a second show on Friday, September 4.
