Political Dynasty Alert: Tinubu Confirms Son Seyi's Ambition!
President Bola Tinubu addressed inquiries about his son, Seyi Tinubu's, political ambitions for 2027, stating he is 'running after his father.' Speaking at a dinner with the City Boy Movement, the President commended the youth for their humble engagement and urged them to deepen their commitment to public service.
President Bola Tinubu recently addressed speculation regarding his son, Seyi Tinubu's, political aspirations, revealing that he had received numerous inquiries about the younger Tinubu's potential candidacy in the 2027 elections. During a dinner hosted on Monday for the leadership of the City Boy Movement, an organization led by Seyi Tinubu, the President light-heartedly remarked that his son is simply “running after his father.” The event, themed “An Evening with the Original City Boy,” served as a platform for President Tinubu to share personal insights and political encouragement.
Describing the occasion as a deeply personal interaction between a father and his son, President Tinubu confirmed that in recent weeks, he had been contacted by various individuals keen to understand Seyi's political intentions. His response, “I got some calls within the last few weeks asking me what’s he running for. He’s running after his father,” underscored the familial connection to his own political journey while subtly deflecting direct answers about a specific political office for Seyi.
Beyond the personal remarks, President Tinubu also took the opportunity to commend Seyi and the other young members of the City Boy Movement. He lauded their initiative in organizing their peers and engaging with young people across the nation. He particularly highlighted their selfless dedication, noting that they had invested their time and efforts into the movement without seeking political titles or offices in return. “You did it humbly. You did not ask for a little, a title, or an office. You went to the young people, your age groups, your group. You listened to them and you organised them. I am proud of all of you,” the President stated, expressing his profound pride in their commitment.
Furthermore, President Tinubu urged his son and all members of the movement to amplify their efforts and deepen their dedication to public service. He issued a paternal challenge: “But I will tell you what every father tells his son. You have only started. Do more. Go further. Serve harder. Set an example that your own children, my grandchildren, will be proud to follow.” This call to action emphasizes a long-term commitment to national service and setting a commendable legacy.
Concluding his remarks, President Tinubu reminded the young leaders that the eyes of Nigeria were upon them, stressing that serving one's country is the highest honor. He articulated, “Nigeria is watching so they know that to serve your country is the highest honour.” These statements resonate strongly as political activities and mobilization efforts intensify across the country in anticipation of the 2027 general elections, with the City Boy Movement actively engaging youth in support of the President’s political agenda.
