Fontaines D.C. Dominates: ‘Dopamine Chamber’ Rockets to #1 on Triple Billboard Charts

Fontaines D.C.'s album, “Dopamine Chamber,” has made a significant impact on the Billboard charts, debuting in the top 10 across seven different rankings. The album achieved three No. 1 bows, specifically on the Independent Albums chart, the Vinyl Albums chart, and the Indie Store Album Sales chart. Additionally, it secured high positions on other major charts, including No. 2 on Top Album Sales, No. 4 on Top Rock Albums, No. 4 on Top Alternative Albums, and No. 5 on Top Rock & Alternative Albums. Furthermore, “Dopamine Chamber” debuted at No. 14 on the overall Billboard 200, marking the highest rank achieved by the Irish rock band on each of these charts.

The album's impressive debut performance was driven by 27,000 equivalent album units earned in the United States during the week ending October 22, as reported by Luminate. Of this total, album sales accounted for 18,000 units, with a substantial portion coming from vinyl sales, which reached 13,000 units, attributed to multiple variants. The remaining units were earned through streaming activity and track sales. All these figures represent new career-highs for Fontaines D.C.

Preceding the album's release, the chart hit single “Marianne” also saw success, climbing from No. 4 to No. 2 on the Adult Alternative Airplay chart and maintaining its No. 16 peak on the Alternative Airplay chart. “Dopamine Chamber” was one of four new entries in the top 10 of the latest Top Album Sales chart, joining albums from PLAVE, Ashe, and TWICE. Also noteworthy was the remarkable jump of CORTIS’ GREENGREEN from No. 39 to No. 8 following a reissue. Beyond the U.S., “Dopamine Chamber” also debuted at No. 1 on the U.K.’s Official Albums Chart, marking the band's second chart-topping album in their home country.
