The TikToker, with username @josephmutua, had lamented how he was at his lowest, having lost everything, but was hopeful that something would open up for him.

His reaction saw people come out to support him, including comedian Eric Omondi, who offered to give him support.

The gospel singer in his video explained that the incident happened around 2020, a period when his private life was under intense public scrutiny due to his separation.

"Being auctioned is not a joke. I lost everything, and the news was all over. At that time, I told myself I would start over again. As a man, when you want to start over, you believe you will go back to where you were immediately. You do not want to change your lifestyle, and you think it is like a switch. What I did not realise was that even for me to reach that level, it had taken 10 to 15 years. Everyone thinks recovering is easy but forgets that all you have was built brick by brick,” he explained.

He added that his recovery was not instant but was guided by faith, friends, and his talent.

“I can only thank God because it did not take me long. I had God, I had friends, and I knew I was talented, so I believed I could combine these things and come back. I was in a rush, and within one or two years I started doing long-term investments, and life was good. Then one day I woke up and felt I should go for prayers. As I was preparing to leave, auctioneers called. It was tough,” Owen recalled.

Describing the auction, he said that he surrendered everything without resistance.

“Auctioneers are trained to be combative, so when they find you are humble, they dangle offers and ask if you have like 300k to save some items. When they called me, I knew I was in for something. So when they came, I gave them everything and told them to take everything. They were shocked and thought I did not care. I just walked away,” he said.

Owen revealed that although 2020 marked his lowest point, the experience made him stronger.

“In 2020, I knew I had hit rock bottom, but after that, I thought I would never face something like that again. It was tough,” he added.

Owen once sparked mixed reactions after stating that he was looking for a kienyeji woman to marry.

He explained that he drew his inspiration for a simple village girl from William Ruto and Rachel's love story.

Some netizens started shooting their shots while others wondered if he was serious about his proposal.
