Ojwang's father wore a black suit during his son's burial, which took place in Homa Bay county.

Several dignitaries attended the burial, including Gladys Wanga and MP Babu Owino

The heartbroken father thanked Kenyans who attended his son's burial and supported them in their grief.

"Eric Omondi, who is here, I want to thank him. I want to thank everyone who has called and prayed for us. May God visit you and thank you for us," he said.

He honoured his son, who grew up to be a hero and a man of the people.

After siring Ojwang, Mzee Opiyo knew that he had to work hard to give his son a quality life.

He did not raise his son alone; their community was there to provide guidance and also chip in with school fees where necessary.

Ojwang's maternal grandmother was also credited for always paying his school fees.

"To my son, since I will not get an opportunity to speak. My son ni shujaa. That boy you see there, I have seen him ever since he was born. Seeing him grow up pushed me to go out and be a productive member of society so that he could study. My in-laws have also helped me take care of my son. His grandmother has also helped out in terms of fees. Let God bless you all," he said.

Mzee Opiyo noted that his dreams were shattered after his son's demise.

"All the dreams I had in him have diminished. We have been told that God has a reason for everything. Let us all believe that. Nimemwachilia alale kwa amani,' he added.

Here is what they had to say:

Martha Anyango:

"It is well with you, says the Lord."

Mueni Elizah:

"May our good God comfort you, no man can. Just take heart mzee it shall be well."

Susan Osoro:

"But as from tomorrow onwards ndo utaanza kujua what is the meaning of death..heri wangekuwa wawil sahii kuja that kajoto wakati mtarudi kwa bedroom na bibi mtaulizana maswali 'lakini mbona mungu ukaruhusu haya yatendeke' ndo tuko na ike msemo ya wakisii (okoira buna nyomba mbabucha.)"

Caroulle Nabyz:

"Be strong in the Lord dad! Let Albert rest in peace till we meet again on that bright morning of resurrection!"

Lornah Shibikhwa:

"Tumelia pamoja na Mungu atufariji nae Albert apumzike kwa amani."
