After recording a perfect 3-0 record in the preseason, Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever continued their stellar play in their WNBA regular season opener.

On Saturday, Clark and the Fever defeated Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky 93-58 to move to 1-0 on the young 2025 season.

But things got heated between the two rivals during the third quarter. After Reese grabbed an offensive rebound off a missed 3-point shot, she attempted to go back up for a layup.

However, Clark stepped in to stop her, wrapping up Reese before giving her a slight shove to the ground. The former LSU star didn’t take it lightly, getting in Clark’s face before the two were separated.

After the officials reviewed the play, they upgraded Clark's personal foul to a flagrant while giving Reese and Aliyah Boston a technical foul each.

Following the win, Clark joined Indiana coach Stephanie White and Boston for a postgame interview. When asked about the altercation with Reese, the All-WNBA guard justified her flagrant foul.

"Let's not make it anything that it's not," Clark said. "It was just a good play on the basketball. I'm not sure what the refs thought to upgrade it. That's up to their discretion... We watch a lot of basketball. It's a take foul to put them at the free throw line than rather give them two points. You know, I've watched a lot of basketball in my life, that's exactly what it was."

Clark continued to defend her foul on Reese.

"I wasn't trying to do anything malicious, that's not the type of player I am," Clark added. "I mean, I went for the ball, and that's clear as day on the replay. You watch it, you know it shouldn't have been upgraded. But again, that's up to the ref's discretion."

Clark finished the game with a triple-double, tallying 20 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. Reese, on the other hand, recorded yet another double-double, notching 12 points and 17 rebounds.

Up next for Indiana, a battle with the Atlanta Dream on Tuesday.
