'The Narrative Y'All Built Is Weird': Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese On-Court Drama Has Ariel Atkins Slamming Media For Overreacting

Published 7 hours ago3 minute read

Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese’s recent on-court spat has received an over-reaction from the media, according to Chicago Sky’s Ariel Atkins. Atkins commented on an Instagram post, showing Reese going after Clark after she blocked her. The 28-year-old shooting guard remarked how hard fouls are part of the game and called out the strange narrative. Clark was issued a foul for the same, while Aliyah Boston was also issued a technical foul for defending her.

Atkins is playing her very first season with the Chicago Sky after she was signed by the team during the offseason. In the previous WNBA season, Atkins played for the Washington Mystics. However, this is not the first season Atkins has played with Angel Reese. A few months back, Atkins played in the inaugural season of the Unrivaled League with Reese for the Rose basketball club.

“Realistically, hard fouls happen. But the hate is unnecessary and the narrative y’all have built is weird to me and dangerous. Just let them hoop.” Ariel Atkins reacted to the Instagram post by the ‘houseofhighlights’.

Caitlin Clark’s Indiana Fever destroyed the Chicago Sky in their season-opening game. The Fever won with a final score of 93-58, with Caitlin Clark leading the team on the scoreboard with 20 points, along with ten rebounds and ten helpers. Aliyah Boston added another 19 points for the team with 13 boards, while Natasha Howard and Kelsey Mitchell each matched ten points for the Indiana Fever in the winning game against Chicago.

It looks like Caitlin Clark has been working really hard during her offseason, despite remaining awfully quiet and laying low from the public eye. According to a recent article by The Guardian, Clark has been putting in time and energy during the offseason to train hard with Sarah Kessler, her athletic performance coach with the Indiana Fever.

Clark already showed fans a sneak peek of her magnificent guns which she proudly showed off in an NBA game a few months back. According to Kessler, Clark has been in the weight room more than four times every week.

Caitlin Clark has been labeled as one of the best female basketball players of all time, especially after the stellar performances she has put up in the NCAA and the WNBA. In the upcoming WNBA season, Clark will play her sophomore year with the Fever team and is expected to put up better scores and take her team to the championships.
