Robert Griffin III believes he knows how Angel Reese truly feels about Caitlin Clark.

While both players have downplayed that there is a rivalry between them, things got heated between the WNBA stars during the Fever-Sky game on Saturday when Clark was called for a flagrant foul on Reese in the third quarter.

Reese had a wide-open path to the basket when Clark fouled her to not allow Reese an easy basket. Reese went tumbling to the court and was furious as she stood up, yelling at Clark, who walked away as Reese was held back.

“After watching Caitlin Clark’s flagrant foul on Angel Reese and the aftermath, there is no way Angel Reese can continue the lie that she doesn’t dislike Caitlin Clark,” RG3 wrote in a Saturday X post that had roughly seven million views by Sunday morning. “I know what hatred looks like. Angel Reese HATES Caitlin Clark. Not some basketball rivalry hate either. Hate.”

Clark, 23, addressed the foul after the Fever’s 93-58 home victory, insisting there was nothing “malicious” behind it.

“Let’s not make it anything that it’s not,” Clark said after the game. “It was just a good play on the basketball. I’m not sure what the ref saw to upgrade it, and that’s up to their discretion. … It’s a take foul to put them at the free-throw line [rather than] give up two points. I’ve watched a lot of basketball in my life, that’s exactly what it was. I wasn’t trying to do anything malicious. That’s not the type of player I am. It wasn’t anything like that. I went for the ball, and that’s clear as day on the replay.”

Reese, 23, did not want to dwell on the foul after the Sky’s loss.

“Basketball play. Refs got it right. Move on,” she said.

Clark paced the Fever with a triple-double, scoring a team-high 20 points, 10 assists, 10 rebounds, four blocks and two steals while sinking 4 of 8 3-point attempts.

Reese led the Sky with 12 points and 17 rebounds.
