Alarm Raised: Insecurity Threatens Tinubu's 2027 Achievements

Tim Diche, a senatorial hopeful for Kogi East in the upcoming 2027 elections, has issued a stark warning regarding Nigeria's burgeoning insecurity, declaring it is 'bleeding the nation' and risks overshadowing the commendable achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration. Speaking yesterday in Abuja, Diche underscored that the Nigerian populace is no longer swayed by mere governmental endeavors but demands concrete results that directly enhance their daily safety and economic prosperity. He asserted that the escalating insecurity crisis is actively diminishing and degrading the Tinubu government, placing significant gains achieved under the current administration under severe threat.
Addressing the contentious allegation of genocide raised by U.S. President Donald Trump, Diche stated that such concerns cannot be dismissed lightly, as they resonate with the harsh realities experienced by Nigerians. He emphasized that the 'genocide allegation' is intrinsically linked to the security of Nigerians, lamenting the tragic mass loss of lives, which he described as profoundly worrisome.
Despite these critical observations on security, Diche extended commendation to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). He highlighted that the party has grown considerably more formidable under President Tinubu's leadership than it was during the tenure of former President Muhammadu Buhari. Diche pointed to the significant exodus of governors and leaders from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) into the APC, suggesting that Nigeria might soon transition into a one-party state. While acknowledging this as a testament to the political strength of President Tinubu and the APC, he stressed the imperative for intensified efforts in the realm of security to rebuild and secure public confidence.
Furthermore, the APC chieftain also lauded Governor Usman Ododo for his substantial advancements in human development within his state. However, Diche advised Governor Ododo to undertake a strategic reset of his economic and political reforms to foster greater development and prosperity for the citizens of Kogi State.
