However, this immense popularity has led to a significant problem: a surge in dangerous counterfeit versions. British authorities have issued urgent warnings to parents, seizing hundreds of thousands of these fake dolls, known as 'Lafufus', which pose serious health risks. These counterfeit toys are flooding the global market, often selling for as little as £2.99, and councils in Scotland and Wales have reported instances of children falling ill after exposure to them.
