Tragic Loss: ‘Country Ever After’ Star Criscilla Anderson Dies Young at 45

Criscilla Anderson, known for her appearance in the 2020 Netflix reality TV series Country Ever After, passed away on December 2 at the age of 45 after a courageous seven-year battle with colon cancer. Beyond her reality television role, Anderson was a talented dancer and served as a choreographer for the esteemed Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders. Her journey with cancer, diagnosed in 2018, was openly shared with the public through her Instagram platform and on the Netflix series, where she inspired many with her resilience.
Anderson's passing prompted a wave of tributes, most notably from her ex-husband, country singer Coffey Anderson, known for hits like “Mr. Red White and Blue” and “Better Today.” In a tender Instagram post, Coffey honored Criscilla, stating, “Criscilla defined strength and fighter like no other person on the planet. Heaven gained a star today.” He further expressed profound grief, writing, “We miss you already. Our hearts are shattered. Our minds are jumbled. Our lives will never be the same. The house is quieter because you’re missing.” He praised their children, noting, “The babies are resilient and strong as ever. We did good with them. So, dance your heart out on the beach in heaven.”
Criscilla's longtime friend and photographer, Lindsey, also shared the heartbreaking news on Instagram, along with Criscilla’s poignant final statement: “If you’re reading this, I’ve finally slipped into the arms of Jesus, peacefully and surrounded by love.” Her message emphasized hope and a call to avoid darkness: “Please don’t stay in the darkness of this moment. I fought hard and I loved deeply. I am not gone… I’m Home.” She left a deeply moving message for her children, assuring them, “My babies… I am watching over you. When a moment feels warm, familiar, or too beautiful to be coincidence, that’s me. I’m still mothering you. I’m still yours. #everybutterfly.” This sentiment was echoed in Coffey’s tribute, where he recalled Criscilla saying, “If you see a butterfly, that will be me. If you miss me, a butterfly will show up. Remember….I’ll be there with you.”
Criscilla and Coffey Anderson married in 2009 and shared three children, a son and two daughters. Coffey also has another daughter from a previous relationship. While Instagram posts from Lindsey and Criscilla’s bio indicated a divorce several months prior, Coffey’s tribute, filled with photos and videos of cherished family moments, clearly demonstrated that a deep bond and love persisted. Criscilla’s final statement concluded with gratitude to her family and friends, along with a powerful plea: “Be gentle with each other. Hold my children close. And remember: heaven isn’t as far away as it feels.”
