The Strokes Announce Epic 2027 Australian Invasion Tour
The Strokes are set to bring their "Reality Awaits" tour to Australia early next year, performing four dates across Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney. The tour will feature special guests like Courtney Barnett and Promiseland, with Beck also joining the Sydney show. Tickets go on sale September 29th for this highly anticipated return.
The acclaimed U.S. rock band The Strokes is set to embark on a highly anticipated three-city east coast tour of Australia early next year, marking their first Australian headline shows since their sold-out run in 2022. This tour supports their latest studio album, "Reality Awaits," which has garnered significant attention since its release. While the band did headline the Harvest Rock 2025 festival in Adelaide, these upcoming dates represent a dedicated tour across major Australian cities.
The Australian leg of the "Reality Awaits" tour, produced by Secret Sounds and Live Nation, will feature four distinct dates. The tour kicks off on Saturday, February 13, at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre in Brisbane. Following this, Julian Casablancas and the band will head south for two consecutive concerts at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on Tuesday, February 16, and Wednesday, February 17. The tour will then conclude on Saturday, February 20, as part of the inaugural Sydney Summertime event at Centennial Park in Sydney.
Joining The Strokes as special guests for the Brisbane and Melbourne shows will be Courtney Barnett and Promiseland, the project of Johann Rashid, both signed to Casablancas’ Cult Records. For the grand finale at Sydney Summertime, Beck, Courtney Barnett, and Promiseland will all be part of the impressive lineup, promising an unforgettable experience for attendees.
"Reality Awaits," released via Cult Records/RCA Records, made a strong debut at No. 10 on the ARIA Albums Chart in July of the current year. This continues The Strokes' consistent success, as six of their seven studio albums have cracked the top 10 in Australia, including their chart-topping album "Angles" in 2011. The album was recorded in Costa Rica with producer Rick Rubin and completed across various global locations, featuring popular singles such as “Going Shopping” and “Falling Out of Love.” It also achieved a peak position of No. 13 on the Billboard 200 chart.
Having recently completed the North America and Japan legs of their "Reality Awaits" tour, The Strokes still have a series of shows planned across the United Kingdom, Europe, and South America before heading to Australia.
