Swindon Murder: Mother-of-Two Found Dead, Teen Arrested as Inquiry Continues

Tributes have poured in for Sarah Forrester, a "wonderfully kind" 55-year-old mental health worker, who was tragically found dead at her home in Moredon, Swindon. Police discovered Ms. Forrester unresponsive after being dispatched to her address following reports of disorder on a Friday evening. She was declared dead at the scene, prompting a murder investigation by Wiltshire Police.
A 13-year-old girl was arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the incident but has since been released on bail while enquiries continue. Police have confirmed they are not looking for anyone else in connection with Sarah's death and have maintained an increased presence in the Baydon Close area where her three-bedroom home was cordoned off.
Friends, neighbours, and colleagues have expressed profound shock and sadness at her passing. Daniella Silva, a neighbour, recounted hearing shouting at Sarah days before her death and noted Sarah's apology for the argument the following day, describing her as a "wonderfully kind, big-hearted woman." Another neighbour, Kerry Marsh, who also works in mental health, spoke of Sarah as an "incredibly kind person" and a "wonderful friend" for seven years.
The Kelly Foundation, a Swindon-based mental health charity where Sarah Forrester worked, released a heartfelt statement. They described her as "completely committed to the charity and devoted to her two young children." The foundation highlighted her pivotal role in their work, stating that her loss is "a hugely traumatic event" for her children, family, and colleagues. "Sarah was an incredible person, kind, thoughtful, considerate, caring and funny and she embodied everything that we hope our charity is and can be. She enjoyed her role with us and we all loved working with her, she will be truly, truly missed," the statement read.
Detective Inspector Darren Ambrose and DCI Guy Elkins, from the Major Crime Investigation Team, urged the public not to speculate on the circumstances surrounding the incident, emphasizing that a live investigation is underway. They also reassured the local community that there is no wider risk to the public. The Kelly Foundation was established in memory of Kelly Jobanputra, a BBC Radio Wiltshire presenter who took her own life in 2019.
