)
The Super Eagles of Nigeria have ignited a wave of optimism and confidence among their supporters after securing a dominant 3-1 victory over Uganda’s Cranes in their final Group C match of the AFCON 2025 qualifiers. This win ensured Nigeria finished the group stage with a perfect record, collecting nine points from a possible nine, a feat that has many Nigerians on social media declaring their team is ready to challenge for continental glory.
Coach Eric Chelle opted for significant squad rotation, making eight changes from the previous lineup, yet the Super Eagles maintained control and overwhelmed their East African opponents. The scoring was opened in the first half by Paul Onuachu, who converted a cutback from Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, after an earlier attempt was denied by veteran goalkeeper Denis Onyango.

With Uganda forced to deploy their third goalkeeper, Nigeria's pressure intensified. Raphael Onyedika then sealed the victory with two quick-fire goals, both assisted by Samuel Chukwueze, extending Nigeria's lead to 3-0.
