Stars Align: Rufus Wainwright, Lucius, Lord Huron Join L.A. Wildfire Benefit!

The Concert for Altadena is significantly expanding its lineup ahead of a crucial benefit event aimed at supporting Californians profoundly affected by last year’s deadly wildfires. This one-night-only concert is scheduled for January 7, 2026, at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium and is dedicated to aiding those impacted by the devastating Eaton Fire.
Altadena resident John C. Reilly, whose own home was tragically destroyed in the blaze, will host the event, bringing a deeply personal connection to the cause. The concert is being meticulously organized by the acclaimed band Dawes, who themselves experienced significant losses due to the fires.
New, prominent additions to the star-studded roster include Rufus Wainwright, Lucius, Lord Huron, and Taboo of the Black Eyed Peas. These artists will join an already impressive list of performers, which features Brandon Flowers of The Killers and country music star Brad Paisley. Further enhancing the diverse musical offering are Eric Krasno, Aloe Blacc, legendary singer-songwriter Jackson Browne, Judith Hill, Jenny Lewis, Mandy Moore, Stephen Stills, Everclear, and Ozomatli, ensuring a memorable evening for all attendees.
All proceeds generated from the concert will directly support the Altadena Builds Back Foundation. This organization is committed to assisting in the monumental task of rebuilding homes and communities ravaged by the wildfires. The Eaton Fire was particularly destructive, claiming 19 lives, forcing a staggering 100,000 residents to evacuate their homes, and leveling nearly 9,500 structures, highlighting the critical need for recovery and rebuilding efforts.
The members of Dawes have openly shared the personal impact of the wildfires on their lives. Brothers and bandmates Taylor and Griffin Goldsmith both suffered immense losses. Griffin posted on Instagram that his family had “lost everything,” including their home, weeks before the Los Angeles Fire Department could finally contain the blazes. Taylor also faced considerable damage, with his home studio and a substantial portion of Dawes’ essential recording equipment being destroyed.
In a powerful gesture, Dawes honored their beloved city at the February Grammys with a performance of “I Love L.A.” They were joined on stage by a collective of renowned artists including Brad Paisley, John Legend, Sheryl Crow, Brittany Howard, and St. Vincent, further drawing attention to the plight of the affected region. As Dawes expressed on Instagram in October, the January 7th concert, marking a year since the Eaton Fire ravaged their town, will undoubtedly be a “heavy night, but it’s going to be a beautiful one too.”
