Shocking Stage Incident: Fan Rips Out Lenny Kravitz's Dreadlocks in Brisbane!

During a recent performance in Brisbane on Friday, November 21, rock icon Lenny Kravitz experienced an unexpected moment when an overly enthusiastic fan inadvertently pulled out four of his dreadlocks. The incident occurred while Kravitz was moving through the crowd during his popular track “Let Love Rule,” a traditional segment of his shows where he interacts closely with his audience. Shortly after the performance at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre, Kravitz shared the event with his fans via an Instagram video, remarking on the intensity of the pull required to detach his dreadlocks: “Brisbane, that was wild. A very excited young lady pulled four dreadlocks out of the back of my head. You know how hard you’ve got to pull to rip those out of my head? Damn, baby.”
Despite the unusual occurrence, Kravitz reassured his fanbase that this interaction would not deter him from continuing his tradition of stepping off stage to connect with the crowd during “Let Love Rule.” He affirmed his commitment, stating, “I’m not going to stop coming out there for ‘Let Love Rule’ because that’s our moment together. Brisbane, you’re wild. I love you.”
The incident took place amidst Kravitz’s ongoing Australian tour, which supports his 2024 album, “Blue Electric Light.” The tour marks a significant return for the artist, as these are his first shows in Australia since 2012. His earlier visits to the country were in 1993 and 1994, making this current run a long-awaited reunion with his Australian fans. The tour itinerary includes upcoming dates in Melbourne on Tuesday, November 25, at John Cain Arena, followed by performances in Mildura on November 28, and Adelaide on November 29.
Kravitz has openly expressed his joy about his current tour, particularly his return to Australia and his first-time visit to New Zealand. In an Instagram post on November 21, he shared his sentiments: “Coming to New Zealand for the first time and returning to Australia after so many years is giving my soul the most beautiful energy. You all are amazing. Thank you for sharing this with me. Let’s keep going!”
Since his last Australian tour in 2012, Kravitz has remained prolific, releasing three additional albums: “Strut” in 2014, “Raise Vibration” in 2018, and his latest, “Blue Electric Light,” in 2024. The year 2024 has also been notable for other career milestones, including being honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Furthermore, he received his inaugural nomination for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, though he was not ultimately inducted.
