Shocking Apology: Pastor Chris Okafor Kneels for Doris Ogala in Marriage Row!

A high-profile dispute between popular Nollywood actress Doris Ogala and Pastor Chris Okafor, the founder of Grace Nation Bible Ministry (also known as Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministries), has seen a significant turn with the pastor issuing a public apology. The controversy stems from Ogala's allegations that Pastor Okafor breached a promise to marry her, a claim that has led to a series of other troubles for the cleric, including a formal demand for N1 billion in compensation from the actress.

The issue escalated over several weeks, drawing public attention following Okafor's marriage to Pearl and the subsequent arrest and release of Ms. Ogala. According to reports, the actress was rearrested in Abuja and later flown to Lagos, with her lawyer reportedly assaulted during the process. A closed-door meeting at the Zone 2 Command in Onikan saw Pastor Okafor reportedly "fall flat on his knees and beg" Ogala, leading to her release on "health grounds."

During a Sunday sermon, Pastor Chris Okafor publicly addressed his congregation, kneeling as he expressed remorse for what he described as "mistakes made in the past." He stated, "To the lady called Doris Ogala, mistakes have been made in the past and I tender apologies to everybody." He further reiterated his willingness to make amends, saying, "I am ready to make restitution to anyone that I have offended," specifically mentioning "any lady, anywhere I’ve offended." The pastor acknowledged his imperfections and appealed for forgiveness and prayers from the congregation and the public.

However, a crucial point of contention arose from Pastor Okafor's apology. While admitting to past mistakes and apologizing, he consistently maintained that many of the allegations leveled against him were untrue. He stated in various instances, "There are so many lies in most of the things that were said," and "But everything that was said is not true. Everything, take note, everything that was said was never true."

Reacting to the pastor's apology, Doris Ogala took to her Facebook page to accept it wholeheartedly, writing, "Pastor Chris please don’t kneel. This was all I wanted. Apology accepted." However, she strongly disputed his claim that her allegations were fabricated or contained lies. "Chris Okafor, I forgive you but there is a problem where you said everything is a lie. I have a problem with that because I don’t lie," she declared, emphasizing her unwavering stance on the truthfulness of her claims.

The background to this dispute includes Ogala's initial accusation of a broken marriage promise, claiming the relationship began in 2017, involved assurances of marriage, introductions to family members, and significant financial transactions, including a N45 million transfer. Her demand for N1 billion in damages was attributed to emotional distress, reputational harm, and financial loss. Despite the pastor's apology and the actress's acceptance, the fundamental disagreement over the veracity of the initial allegations remains, leaving a lingering point of contention in this high-profile celebrity and religious figure conflict, with the demand for N1 billion compensation dated December 16, 2025.
