Rising Star Edgehill Dominates Alternative Airplay with 'Doubletake' Breakthrough

Rocker Edgehill has officially clinched its inaugural No. 1 spot on a Billboard chart, making history with “Doubletake” ascending to the pinnacle of the Alternative Airplay chart. The track, which first debuted in 2025 and is featured on the band's debut album, Ode to the Greyhouse, was released in February of the current year through Severance and Big Loud Rock. On the chart dated April 18, “Doubletake” leaped three positions to claim the top spot, marking a significant milestone for the band.

This achievement is particularly notable as it signifies Edgehill's maiden appearance on any Billboard ranking. “Doubletake” reached No. 1 in its 27th week on Alternative Airplay, having first entered the tally at No. 39 on October 18, 2025. The song's steady climb reflects a growing momentum and audience engagement that has culminated in this chart-topping success.

Edgehill now stands as the third act in 2026 to secure a first No. 1 on the Alternative Airplay chart. They follow The Paradox, which topped the chart in January with “Get the Message,” and YUNGBLUD, whose track “Zombie” led in February. What sets Edgehill apart, however, is that “Doubletake” is their very first song to appear on any Billboard chart. This makes them the first act to lead Alternative Airplay with a debut song on any Billboard ranking since sombr achieved the feat with “Back to Friends” last June.

Beyond its success on Alternative Airplay, “Doubletake” is also making strides on the broader, audience-based Rock & Alternative Airplay chart. The single climbed from No. 19 to No. 13, registering an impressive 2.3 million audience impressions in the week ending April 9, according to Luminate, a 25% increase. In celebration of their rising profile, Edgehill is scheduled for a four-date tour run from May 5-9, with stops in Philadelphia, New York, and Cambridge, Massachusetts. This includes two highly anticipated nights at New York’s Bowery Ballroom, where they will be opening for Winyah.

All Billboard charts dated April 18 are scheduled to be updated and published on Billboard.com on Tuesday, April 14, providing the full details of Edgehill's historic week.
