Red Carpet Royalty: Owambe Glam Lights Up 'Ajosepo 2' Premiere

The premiere of "Ajosepo 2: The Gathering" last night was a spectacular display of Nollywood's finest embracing the "Owambe Glam" theme, transforming the venue into a vibrant high-society celebration.
The cast and esteemed guests meticulously adhered to the dress code, presenting a visual feast of traditional elegance and modern sophistication.
Timini Egbuson, portraying the groom, Jide, in the film, diverged from typical flashy fabrics, opting instead for a deeply rooted traditional aesthetic.
He donned a meticulously structured Agbada crafted from a rich, deep blue fabric, heavily adorned with traditional accessories.
His ensemble was completed with a striking red fila, multiple rows of vivid red coral beads encircling his neck and wrist, and a white ìrùkẹ̀rẹ̀ held with grace, embodying a profound sense of cultural heritage.
Bolaji Ogunmola, who embodies the bride, Mary, exuded radiance in a cream-coloured aso-oke skirt and blouse. Her top featured subtly wide sleeves, elegantly embellished with intricate purple rope embroidery along the neckline and cuffs.
This was perfectly complemented by an overlapping skirt that mirrored the purple detailing at its hem, with a flawlessly tied white gele crowning her exquisite bridal appearance, radiating poise and beauty.
The remaining attendees also delivered impressively on the "Owambe Glam" mandate. They showcased a stunning array of fabrics, artfully tied geles, and bespoke traditional designs, collectively imbuing the entire venue with the vibrant and joyous atmosphere of an authentic high-profile wedding party.
This collective effort underscored the event's success in capturing the essence of Nigerian celebrations.
"Ajosepo 2: The Gathering," directed by the acclaimed Kayode Kasum, is the much-anticipated sequel, picking up two years after the original film's events. This installment pivots around the impending wedding of Jide and Mary, an occasion that inevitably reunites their sprawling and often chaotic extended family.
Audiences can anticipate a fresh wave of drama, hearty laughter, and long-held secrets unraveling.
The film boasts a stellar cast, including Timini Egbuson, Bolaji Ogunmola, Mike Afolarin, Tomike Adeoye, Toyin Abraham, and several other notable talents, promising an engaging cinematic experience.
Fans are encouraged to witness all the unfolding drama when "Ajosepo 2: The Gathering" makes its theatrical debut across the country this Thursday, May 28, 2026.
